Carolinensiel - Harlesiel

... the only place on the whole north sea coast with three harbours...

In the centre of Carolinensiel is the “Old Harbour” with the historic ships. The typical oest friesen houses around the harbour and the German siel harbour museum complete the idylic scene. Many remarkable pubs and restaurants are to be found and offer east friesen specialities. Our museum harbour is a particular attraction in summer and winter: relaxed parties in the summer evenings or the sea of lights at Christmas time.

The Harle promenade leads one past the spa centre “Cliner Quelle” with the indoor salt water pool, wellness and sauna area, to the Friedrichs lock with the lifting bridge in the Dutch style.

In summer many yachts and sailing boats are moored in the yacht harbour at Harlesiel. They reach the outer harbour through the lock and then the north sea. In the outer harbour are also the island ferry boats for Wangerooge. You can also take a trip on a fishing boat and learn about catching and peeling shrimps.
